The voltage may rise, but the total available power will not. What are those three extra capacitors doing? If you let this thing run for awhile I am certain the whole thing will eventually stop once you have exhausted the power you have originally stored in those capacitors. POWER=CURRENT TIMES VOLTAGE. There will always be power loss due to friction, resistance, etc. Nice try, but no cigar!
That was exactly what i was thinking. Voltage rise and current drops because the capacitors get drained. I also have made a axial flux motor, but this one i have some upgrades on that makes it 100% more efficient then standard. Still, i am not able to do any magic like a self running motor...

You are closer to what to do. You understand the need for the compacter. You need a battery array that switches with another large compacter to handle load output during the switch of battery banks (just for sustaining the device and by battery You don't need powerful ones or led acid ones).
Also you need magnets to increase potential in the turning. You could add a small solar panel to make the startup charge for the device as to not defy thermodynamics. you can also see a cheater circuit to increase potential through compacter load. Kudos on success I made this system on paper in the 5th grade and my teacher said it was impossible even with magnetic acceleration. also may want to check out Nitinol for continuing the circles potential.

I am building another Axial Flux. My first one was sorta a success, it had dual 22 gauge wires per coil at 48 wraps and made open voltage of 83 volts at 350 rpms. However, that one was a 9 coil, I am now making a 12 coil and I am using double strands of 15 gauge (1.45mm wire) wrapped 38 times to build one to charge 12 volt system, NOT another 24 volt system. Does 38 wraps of double( 15 gauge) 1.45 mm wire (4 coils per phase) sound right for a Axial to make 30 volts at 350 RPMS for a 12" rotor and using 32 magnets (2"x 1" x 1/4" Neo-42 magnet)? Whats your perspective? You can improve your design be leaving less air gap in your coils, instead of making them into triangles it would be more efficient to make them into more of an elliptical shape. Since voltage and current are induced by a conductor cutting through magnetic lines of flux, if you are able to increase the amount of lines being cut with the same shaft rpm you will generate more power. Credit: electrician and studying electrical engineering. I apologize if you have already discovered this. Great jig by the way! I wish you success. In lieu of instant glue, wrap thread to secure coils. Apply varnish, or wood sealer to the thread and let dry for a day. You can also use wood glue. A slight breeze spins them and if DC voltage is produced, it can be used to trickle charge a battery or any device. No need for high winds like all these cogging units require. Sure, it's nice to get 50 volts but you need a 20 MPH wind just to get them to start to spin! Not gonna work for me

I don't ave any videos of the build but the only part removed from most of the fan motors is the metal ring joining the two halves. Other than that, most of the internal parts are used, coils, wires, etc.
Ceiling Fan Generator I made which produces AC Current and Converted to DC Current hooked to a Bridge Rectifier. Very little if any clogging is present and with the right blades, will spin in very low wind. Other videos of this motor are available in our video library.
After some thought - the extra square magnets were bad. We want a conductor ring outside to bend the field back into the adjacent magnet as explained in your vid. The sq ones i had closed the air gap, but also connected to each other and closed the loop, effectively steering the field away from the stator back into the magnets. i will remove those and add a spacer to close air gap or leave as is.
Anyway, I see you did use a diode bridge to make a DC current, and I know that the batteries themselves will regulate voltage going out, but wouldn’t you have to put in a voltage regulator in-between the turbine and the batteries so you don’t fry your system?

That will turn that half wave rectifier into a full wave rectifier.
Finally, adding an additional capacitor as an 'input filter' before the rectifier input should totally smooth out that dc wave form.
The coils aren't wound clockwise, counterclockwise, clockwise, etc.. They should all be wound the same direction. There will basically be 2 circuits... one set of coils that is wired directly to the source voltage, and the other set is wired with the capacitor. They are set on the motor in an alternating pattern.. so the first coil will be in the capacitor circuit, the next without the cap, the next with the cap, the next without etc. The capacitor side of the circuit causes the current to lag 90 degrees out of phase with the other side of the circuit. This creates a rotating magnetic field. The rotating magnetic field moves past the squirrel cage in the stator, inducing a current in the squirrel cage. This creates a magnetic field in the squirrel cage that is opposite in charge to the magnetic field in the rotor, causing the stator to be attracted to the rotating magnetic field of the rotor. The stator will always rotate slightly slower than the rotating field in the rotor. This is called slip. This is because if the stator was moving at the same speed as the rotors magnetic field, than the bars of the squirrel cage would not be getting crossed by the rotors field, and no current or field would be produced in the stator. Now that you know how a single phase induction squirrel cage motor works, you can better understand and design a generator from its components.
Can you give me any help on this? I went to the dump today looking for a motor to drive a project I'm making, and I found this exact same motor. When it is driving a washing machine, it presumably has some sort of mechanism to make it run slower. Do you know how it works? Like the electronic control in a drill? Being as the motor is only rated at 370W, I would have expected that running on only part of the phase would make it incapable of turning a drum full of wet laundry!

The motor itself will run as fast as it can, given input voltage and the load you put on it. Washing machines control the speed probably through a triac and a PWM circuit. You could do that with a micro controller such as an Arduino.
My Kenwood kitchen mixer (and most KitchenAid mixers) have speed control through a spinning weight that breaks contact at a certain adjustable speed. When contact breaks, the motor slows down until contact is being made again.
series wound motors must always have load to run. Else the current approaches 0 so the magnetic flux approaches 0 with result the speed going to infinite. Since n = kn * (Vm - Rm * Ia) / Φ(magnetic flux). So the only damage to this Motor is from overspeeding the commutator and the friction on the brushes and/or un the bearings.
It is a motor itself. What he built is called an elecrtic engine. What powers the engine is the current he puts in. If he tried to take energy out he would fail, because physics don't work like that. EMF does create an electromagnetic filed (hence mechanical movement as in motor) and we can use electricity to make a pure magnetic field (torque = u x B and DeltaU=2μB) so what the guy just did here is reversing the process ~ converting magnetic field into mechanical movement(hence getting electricity like in dynamo) and yes it is not free because eventually the magnet will lose its magnetism due to coercivity so its not free (energy cannot be created or destroyed but change from one form to another). No, the magnet can keep its magnetism nearly ad aeternam if it's a good one. The real problem comes from the fact that what he uses is called an electric engine and has been used for decades. If he were to try to exploit the result, it would be the same as keeping a continuous wire, except that he goes from a wire, to a rotating thing, to a wire again, using lots of energy in resistances and friction meanwhile. Anyone who sends you money to develop this is a fool. What you are developing is nothing more than another of thousands of variations on a simplistic motor design. (and a poor efficiency design to boot). Innumerable fools and/or con men have tried to accomplish exactly what you are trying to do, over and over for nigh onto a hundred years, and no one has even come remotely close to getting more energy out, than they put in to begin with.
its a tiny motor with a hairpin shaft so thr current flips it easily..if you made a bigger version you will have to add proper commutators and slip contacts otherwise the whole set up will create a dead shorted electromagnet ..this is a homopolar motor
One thing I don't understand is why the coil spins without inverting the current everytime? I learned that the current should be inverted all the time because the Lorentz forces should be inverted too. Allegedly, without doing this, the coil will flip back and forth. How come this doesn't apply in this case?I made this motor and here are some tips /-
1-> Your coil should be made of somewhat thick wire. The thin coil would not fix .
2-> You can use paper clips instead of aluminium .
I have built both. There is no advantage to removing the insulation on half the wire on both sides rather than all the insulation on one side and half on the other. In fact if you remove the insulation on all of the wire on one side, then you are sure to have conduction when the uninsulated part of the opposite side makes contact. It will work both ways but as to what is better, I prefer to remove all the insulation on one side.
Materials Required - - 2 pieces 2 cm X 6 cm of thin aluminum (cut from thin aluminum cookie sheets)
- 1.5 meters of magnet wire (24 or 25 gauge,)
- 2 metal tacks
- 2 lengths copper wire, 15 cm
- 1 ring magnet
- 1 AA battery (Do not use any battery rated above 1.5 volts, overheating of coil will result)
- 1 block of wood, 6 cm X 15 cm
- Small piece sandpaper
- 1 elastic band.
There is a idea floating around the internet about self running two motors that are connected together. This is just a Demo of two 12v Dc PM electric motors connected together with a small flywheel between them, the idea on the net is one motor acts as a drive motor and the other as a generator when spun up the claims are the two motors can run each other like a closed loop can this work? This video is just a basic experiment and explanation, I don't go into detail and there are many factors involved.
I have a small flywheel in the middle of the two motors to address kinetic energy, I know it's not balanced very well and it's crudely built. This is just a simple experiment good for a kids science fair project can show motor to generator AC to DC current, etc.

It's quite clear that it doesn't work! The more power the generator generates, the more power it takes to drive it. Energy is wasted as heat in the bearings and frictional forces in the commutator, as well as heat in the coils. I find it quite funny how people think this would work, but it's an interesting idea even if it is wrong! Great video.
add a few car batteries to bank the stored power and add some giant home made capacitors on top of what you have and it would work but you couldn't tell where the power is coming from. you would have to add some diodes to direct the flow of current and you would get more loss other than friction and coil heat. to try and gain the loss of input to output is like cutting a number like 1 in 1/2 and finding the end to get zero. it won't work so you have to add a new factor to upset the balance to gain plus on the end output. other than fuel you could gear it but than you lose torque. you could loop water in a conductive pipe with gravity and have magnets pushed by water that would work but to get the magnets to loop would be the challeng
the only reason it failed is cus your breaking the circuit if you want it self running just cut input power from a external source while the wiring remains unbroken and will allow the chance of it self running! your second mistake is that you wouldnt run a load from it directly, always charge batteries with it and use an inverter to make 230 volts ac! simple then run long term tests with it for consumption etc! use multiple batteries along with solar panels and youl have a full scale project that could save money time, lives! your third mistake is you need to use good capacitors :)

I acquired twelve car batteries and tried this with a round mirror I took off my neighbor's bathroom wall. I couldn't find a suitable lens, so just used my hang drum, which is shaped like a large lens. I already had a super strong bar magnet. This baby worked like crazy but destabilized when it got going too fast. I put a circular track down (used my old HO gauge model train tracks) and attached a set of the model boxcar wheels onto the "lens." Problem solved. I'm getting about 200-210 r.p.m., and I've started building a one-man go-cart to be powered by this sucker. I will let you know when I get the drive train (very simple design) hooked up. I just want to see if it'll power me (I weigh 210lb.) at any appreciable speed down the street.
That is indeed a well thought out and explained lesson/video. However, you misinterpret his statement. @ 8:08 in that video, he is talking about the generator, not the motor. He refers to the increased resistance to turning of "IT". "IT" being the generator that "he", the student, was cranking.

I can understand saying that a resistance to movement is an "attempt" to move in the opposite direction. That is certainly an easily understood concept. This is also especially understandable since if you instead, force a current through the generator in the same direction that it flows when it is generating, the generator's motor behavior will indeed turn it in the opposite direction (I might add, a good demonstration of Fleming's Right & Left Hand Rules). However, I would not say it that way because we are not forcing a current through it from an external source and, therefore it is operating in the mode of generating current from a force/movement/ not in the mode of producing movement from a current. I like the way he uses the mechanical movement as the electric-magnetic link and my proposed explanation fits very well with the two step introduction to the motor/generator concepts in the video.

I believe a better overall view is, at that time, to focus on the concept that a resistance to movement isn't necessarily trying to *MOVE* opposite than the initial movement. Certainly, you must agree that the resistance (friction) you feel pushing a brick along the ground is simply resistance (friction) to movement and not an attenpt to actually move backwards.
As he does later in that same video, I think it is more instructive to consider the resistance to the movement felt at the generator's crank to be an additional energy (input) that is required to now be delivered to another device such as the headlamp.. This also easily focuses on the very thing he later criticizes about the "Free Energy" supporters.

So... Yes it can be said that, in a way, a loaded GENERATOR 'appears to" try to turn in reverse when loaded... but an understanding of the flow of energy from mechanical, to electrical, to some other useful form is a good thing to introduce at that point.

Great way to show how a motor and alternator are basically the same thing. A motor can be an alternator and a motor, the same applies to a alternator. When a load is applied to a motor it basically tries to move in reverse which is why it takes allot more power to run a motor that is under a load.
The laws of physics are not absolute. Nature given us many forces, and with little steps we are trying to use other resources then oil and cole as energy sources. Now we lost a lot of creativity because of our addiction to computers and the easy of the use of google. But magnetism is an strong force where we need to be creative with to developed a movement with it. Now we got magnetism blockers, radar wheels, chains and pvc. With those ingredients it is possible. Most of the technics that is needed, you can find back in hour-works. It is not that simple as putting magnets on a wheel and rum it around.

This is design #2. This will technically be an overunity motor if I can get the electromagnet built to the right specs. When this is done, I'd like to start on plans for a battery powered car that gets a full overnight charge from a standard 18v drill battery. Charge your drill battery during the day and use it to charge your car at night. But that's a long way down the road.....PUN IN-TENDED!Its called the First Law of Thermodynamics guys. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only change forms. This setup will never work, and neither will any other "magnet energy generator." Solar energy is the only free energy. Period. Its convection dude... When wind turbines spin they create energy and it is convected into copper wires and creates energy. Hydroelectricity, Dam turbines are turned by water and create energy in basically the same way wind turbines do. Magnets can do the same thing by using convection with a copper spool... I understand energy cannot be created or destroyed but you are speaking in terms of the universe and the cosmos. Besides, without a magnetic field we would not have electricity, or generators. EMP devices stop electronics from working as well. Everything about magnetism goes hand in hand with electricity.

You are right though, that when a conductor (copper, aluminum) is in relative motion to a magnetic field, it transforms the kinetic energy (the movement) into electric energy. The magnet is used to convert the energy in wind or water into electricity, but there's no energy in the magnet. Just like pedals on my bike convert energy in my big muscley legs to energy in the wheel pushing the bike forward. The pedals themselves won't just start spinning! Make sense?

India has very very little oil and there are no all-powerful energy companies in India - in fact, India's spend on oil is all money leaving their economy and so the rich and powerful there have every incentive to develop free power if such was do-able, and they do have a lot of scientists and engineers, and are a major player in commercial satellite launches with few errors. And also please note that no nation outside of India has any influence on India, except perhaps the USA has just a tiny bit, but very tiny, as evidenced by India frequently voting oppositionaly to the USA in the United Nations. Non-Indians can't own land in India, own more than 49% of a company, or adopt Indian babies/children. India is for Indians only, but all are welcome to visit and spend tourist dollars. India can and does rip off Western world patents, though they keep that at a minimum. And as India is energy deficient, and no energy companies have power there, and she has lots of physicists, scientists and engineers and mathmaticians, if free-energy was possible I think we would see it deployed in India.
I remember hearing my physics teacher mumble something about how it's not an actual force but that was over 12 years ago. In the meantime nobody had a problem using the term and I'd expect university physics to have a thing or two to say about it if there were a problem.
This is centrifugal force overcoming the force of the magnetism. Not terminal velocity. Terminal velocity is gravitational attraction vs. air resistance, which means the object has to be moving towards the gravity source, which is down towards the Earth. What's being demonstrated in this video is rotational speed in the horizontal plane perpendicular to the force of gravity, resulting in centrifugal vs. centripetal forces that overcome the magnetic attraction of each individual magnet to each other, until the structure fails.
