Are you saying you get 1KWH out of about 4 pounds of wood? Thats really excellent. Do you mind share some details? Maybe point a brother in the right direction. I just acquired an 11hp honda horizontal engine that is just waiting on me and my son to figure out what we want to do with it. From the sound of it we want to convert it to woodgas :) DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. This is just for entertainment and educational purposes only. In this video I'm just showing one way of getting 120v AC out of a car alternator with low rpm engine to generator setup. The wiring of the transformers and diagrams is not exactly correct you must wire them so they are in phase with each other, the transformers have a specific way you must wire them together. I could not show this because I am using homemade transformers on my working generator. You do not have to use transformers to get 120v out of an alternator if you spun it at high rpm's by using a large pulley on the engine but I am showing this at a lower rpm. I only build these projects as a hobby and I speed very little time building them as you can see.
